Sean is a writer, editor, photographer, and marketing content strategist based out of Portland. His early career sprouted in the New York City trenches of magazine and web production, where he worked for publishers and websites including WebMD, Paste Magazine, and Stereogum. The majority of a decade and an MBA later, Sean collaborates with various friends (clients is a terribly cold, grey-colored word) on digital marketing and content strategy, including a stint as communications director at an international payments startup. He still keeps his journalism flame burning as an editor at Paste Magazine and contributor to Playboy Magazine, The Atlantic, and NPR. He also has a book, The Art of Over the Garden Wall, releasing in September 2017 and is working on a novel due out in early 2019.
He adores the following in no particular order: Neil Gaiman, Werckmeister Harmonies, Swiss design, Harvard Case Studies, ampersands, The Muppets, ’70s leather jackets, Craig Thompson, innovation, Gattaca, autumn, Nada Surf, The Book Thief, Double Fine Productions, and the way old paper smells.
